Vinted Users Voice Displeasure About Size Updates

Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.

This online marketplace has updated its size classifications for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update.

Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration.

The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms.

It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated.

Sizing System Changes

Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Another user, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.

Manual Updates

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".

"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million users, with 18 million British users.

It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
