A review has uncovered that approximately 90 aircraft journeys connected to Jeffrey Epstein are said to have touched down at and left British airports, with some allegedly having onboard women from the UK who allege they were exploited by the convicted sex offender.
These aviation records were among thousands of court documents and files released by Epstein’s estate that have been disclosed over the previous twelve months. The review found 87 flights connected to Epstein – including many that were previously unknown – landing or taking off from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed “females” were listed among the individuals flying to and from the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK occurred after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a underage person.
“It was ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘comprehensive British inquiry’ into his activities in the country,” remarked American attorneys representing numerous Epstein survivors.
Testimony from one of the UK-based survivors was instrumental in convicting Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. However, that survivor has never been contacted by UK authorities, as stated by her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the London's Metropolitan Police said they had “not received any additional information that would support reopening the investigation.” They noted, “If fresh and pertinent evidence be brought to our attention, including any arising from the disclosure of documents in the US, we will evaluate it.”
A bill to make public all files held by the US government in concerning Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. A vast number of files are anticipated to be made public.
In a related development, a US judge ruled last week that the DOJ could make public case files from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is serving a 20-year jail term over the allegations.
