My client reveals that yesterday evening, they poured themselves "a single glass" to unwind after a long day. That first serving turned into another, followed by even more. This is a pattern they become accustomed to; a private custom that helps the individual "switch off" away from the racing worries that flood their consciousness once their schedule eventually slows down.

Growing Phenomenon: Turning to Drinks to Cope With Stress

This account reflects something that I've been seeing at a growing rate among clients. As a therapist, it's clear a significant trend: a rising percentage of adults who are relying on substances to cope with their stress.

Data indicates that about over a third of adults who drank beverages reported doing so to alleviate tension and a substantial percentage to handle nervousness.

Understanding Contemporary Stress Experience

We exist in a time of known as worldwide anxiety factors. We have never been so persistently informed of emergencies, tensions and instability. Even when we turn off technology, the anxieties remain of economic pressure, work instability, ecological anxiety and the emotional fatigue that results from feeling helpless.
